This is a 5 week block of wheel throwing classes for beginner adults.
We will cover the basics of making pottery on the wheel - wedging, centering clay on the wheel, throwing, trimming and glazing. These are small classes of 2-3 people, so you will get a lot of one-on-one tutoring time and also be able to learn alongside others. You will end up with a few pieces that you have made.
The studio has electric wheels and a manual kick wheel, and I encourage my students to try them both out.
In my classes I meet each student where they are at, and I care about finding ways to best support your learning. Making pottery is a great way to get out of your head for a little while, and get connected with the clay and your hands. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Classes are in my studio in Island Bay, I will send you the address by email after you have purchased the class.
Please bring:
clothes you can get muddy in or an apron.
an old towel for your hands.
